The economy might be in very bad shape but for the person who wants to get deals when they ARE traveling, there are many. I was on all the major hotel chain web sites and each one is offering a great promotion. Pay for 2 nights get the third for free.(Priority Club)
Get double points for a paid stay.(Marriott)
Go on the web site of your favorite hotel chain and see the great promotions.

Can you point out where on Marriott's website you saw the double points offer. I saw the double nights promotion and the double points when you book a meeting, but not double points on hotel stays. Thanks.

Just checked the Marriott site and in the lower right hand corner is the promotion. You must register for this promotion.
